This disobedience caused a seal to be broken, hence the origin of humanity was altered, leaving us vulnerable to things we know, but cannot understand; bad things we know but cannot fight off. In our world today, when we break a law, we are more or less unaffected by it, but with God, every act of disobedience has a great price the offender surely pays.
