The Temple

Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 3:6-20 explains how we are now the ark that houses the Spirit of God. "For we are the husbandry of the lord, a living vessel that should be unblemished to carry out the works of God." This is possible for Jesus Christ by doing the will of the father, laid a foundation of spiritual works in each of our hearts. A seed was sowed in the spirit, which yields fruit in our lives today. This chapter in the bible teaches the profitable works of sowing to the spirit, rather than the flesh, because the works of the spirit gives life but the works of the flesh are perishable. In verses 12&13 he alludes that when our works will be tried by fire, the works of the spirit will abide but the vain works of the flesh will be destroyed. (1 Cor. 3:16-17, 1 Peter 1:7). Our body is a tool in God's hand to carry out profitable works that would abide forever; but when the tool is corrupt, it is useless and would only yield perishable works that would be destroyed by God. Our bodies were never ours, to do as we please. God values your body more than earth itself; like treasure you must protect the vessel of God, because it was created to house the spirit of a King and a Creator.

When we welcome a bishop, or a man of high  value in society, we choose the perfect environment, befitting chairs, and we clean the place to suit the worth of the personality: how much more the Creator of the universe whom has chosen our body as the perfect environment to dwell in. We ought to honour God with an unblemished vessel because He is worthy, and humble to have choosen you above all the choicest things in life, to dwell in here on earth. Without the Spirit of God and the ultimate sacrifice that ushered God's spirit in us, we are like what 1 Peter 1:22-25: "...but the word of God that abides in our heart and its works endureth forever."

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? [20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

 2 Peter 2:9-22

I challenge you to take up your pride (temple) and say no to any intimate sexual relationship that is not justified by God's law, then would you see the true nature of such a relationship. One bathed with sex slavery, a body union that has no honour in the sight of God but constantly defiles the flesh in several ways. Some survived to love, out of the grace and mercy from God to their unborn children, but were left with a scar of regret; while the rest suffer individually and cannot find redemption. Most individuals (male mostly) are so corrupt with the desire to please the body, and the opposite gender helps to feed such pleasure, forgetting the laws of God.

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 KJV
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. [10] Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.

1 Corinthians 6:13-20 KJV
Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. [14] And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. [15] Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. [16] What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. [17] But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. [18] Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. [19] What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? [20] For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

If we can do away with the desire to please our lustful wants all the time, we would see the world for what it is; a corrupt ground that seeks only its benefit and the desire to send people to hell. (1 John 5:19). In our world today, we see the young and the adult engaging in all kinds of relationship for fleshy benefit -- its common name, dating! Others sell their bodies for money, (ignorant of this wickedness to their own soul). This move today is motivated by selfishness. We start what we cannot finish, all in the name of dating. Some start this relationship just to see where it would land them; all at the expense of corrupting the temple of God (your body). They pursue romance when they’re really not interested in commitment. Psalm 4:2
So I challenge us to rethink our views on dating: we'd then discover that impropriety robs us of our connection with God. Nowadays, some persons have removed the romance and commitment part of relationship just to please the body: they are not any different than the harlot that defiles the flesh with different bodies for money.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 KJV
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: [4] That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; [5] Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: [6] That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. [7] For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. [8] He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

Apostle paul through the wisdom of God, explained the means to avoid the sin of defiling the flesh by sexual sin. He understood that the God that instructed us to be sober and vigilant sees the enemy that is relentless in using the slightest means to attack. Through this understanding, he foresaw harder times that was yet to come: the time when the world will be tried; so he advised on singlehood and marriage.

SINGLEHOOD:- 1 Cor. 7:25-40

If we look at verses 29-31, we would see reasons why apostle Paul advised that he that abides alone has done better, and happier is that person.

MARRIAGEHOOD:- 1 Cor. 7:1-24

If we look at verses 5-9 again, we would see that Satan comes to tempt our imbalance between the flesh and the spirit at any given medium. He that sows to the spirit will overcome all; he that through his body serves the Lord has done better: for the works or deeds of the spirit yields eternal reward unlike the works or deeds of the flesh. It is better to avoid fornication through marriage and not end up in fire.

These verses give us a clear understanding of how the devil tempts us from lack of self-control and the things we desire James 1:12-18. In Gal. 5:22-26, amongst the gifts of the spirit contains self-control and discipline, to check-mate our fleshy desires and want. The works of the flesh were evaluated by God to profit perishable things; things of the moment; and its climax is a living disaster which yields degradation of our bodies and the ultimate loss of our souls. For this reason we must therefore walk in the spirit and allow the spirit to control our whole being, hence enforcing a right balance between the flesh and spirit. Pro. 11:1, 1 Peter 2:11 KJV
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Your body is for the Lord God alone; you are whole and complete through Christ Jesus. You do not need any man or woman to complete you. God is not selfish, so there is room to unite with another in an honourable way in the sight of God. If only many would abandon their pride and examine themselves, half or even more in the world would not get married because many lack the discipline and responsibility. We have forgotten the purpose of marriage and love has waxed cold, we can't make prudent marital choices and the world is now rich in temptation. Red flags abound: many lack self control, the spirit of God is far from them, they take pleasure in the flesh than the spirit. Apostle Paul said it is good for a man not  to touch a woman (because his body which is the temple of God, is joined by the spirit of God through Christ Jesus) and the devil is looking for any imbalance to try the heart of man. This same heart, the bible has said is treacherous.

 Jeremiah 17:9-10 KJV
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately  wicked: who can know it? [10] I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

In our world today, telling a male not to touch a female is like playing a song using your earphone and expecting your neighbour to hear the song. Does this mean many are not strong enough to overcome sexual sin? God forbid! this is not true. Gods spirit is sufficient enough to groom you, but we have not made any effort to bring ourselves close enough for the spirit of God to cultivate self-control. Mostly because we have zero believe in the power of God and what we can achieve, if we set our mind to rid ourselves of sexual sin. Do you know whom you serve? The Creator of the universe. He knows and understands all his works; a large portion of him is in you, and you are capable of anything, when you work towards it.

Love conquers all; if you love God you will do his will and overcome all that God has commanded you to . A person living in sin is considered wicked because he hateth his own soul and there is no love in his heart because he desires his soul to perish in fire.heb 10:26-31, gala 6:7-8 and eph 5:1-17

Do not be grieved or intimidated by what I say because If I am able to keep to God's words & laws by faith for that reason I don't see myself superior to you but I only believe that God will open our minds to see a need to turn to Him constantly Romans 12:3.
Pleasure will end but consequences/conscience abides until it has completed it's assignment.

James 1:12-15 KJV
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. [13] Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: [14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. [15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
